Free take-back when you buy from us
When you buy an electrical item from us, such as an automatic feeder or a self-cleaning litter tray, you can send us a similar old item to recycle for free. It can be any brand, as long as it does the same job. Email tomasz@ourbestfriends.store within 28 days of your new item arriving and we'll send you a free returns label to post it to us in Leicester.
Why it matters
Old electricals can contain heavy metals and batteries that harm the environment and people's health if they end up in landfill. When they're recycled properly, many of their parts and materials can be used again. So please keep electrical waste out of your household rubbish.
The crossed-out wheelie bin
The crossed-out wheelie bin symbol on a product or its box means it must not go in your household bin. Take it to a recycling point instead, or send it back to us as above.
Other ways to recycle
- Your local council's household recycling centre takes small electricals free of charge. Find your nearest at recyclenow.com.
- Many larger shops have collection points for small electricals.
- If your old item still works, you could give it a second life through a charity shop or a reuse group.
